Cultural & Community

Historical Research used to distill the cultural significance, then to guide the detailed design, refinement, and detailing to enrich historical experience.  The global-positioning time-ball technologies researched with the HK Observatory and AMO, and restored into daily enactments.  Timber Typhoon-Signal Masts researched and reconstructed, and Signal and Noon-day cannons researched, sourced, and replaced with Hotchkiss 6 pounders, authentic to the originals that once stood on the site.

Original gas lamps restored, connected, and made functioning with casts made of each.

Technologies of Structural Masonry, timber flooring, structural cast-iron, Brickwork, etc were sensitively restored and revealed and supported pioneering solutions amid the unresolved contradictory statutory regimes under the Antiquities and Monuments, and Buildings Ordinances.
